Mary, Mary, quite contrary How does your garden grow? With silver bells, And cockle shells, And pretty maids all in a row.
Prompt 1: t's probably been at least a little while since you managed to climb out of the well, so hopefully you've dried off by now and are enjoying poking around the Town. But who cares about all of that? More importantly, the Town has a new feature this time, for reasons entirely unknown to everyone. The flowers...seem to be talking. They have no faces, but they will definitely turn to talk to you, and if they have had their color restored, they will very brightly and contentedly compliment you, or your clothing, or wish you well. If they haven't? Prepare yourself for all sorts of horrible, horrible insults, because that's all that's coming your way. Prompt 2: ow are you settling in? Is the Town treating you well? It's not as bad as it used to be; some of the houses have color, some of the food has color and taste as well. It's been polished up a bit since everyone first got here. Granted, when you wake up that morning to find yourself in full fancy wear of many different types (all colorless, and gender has nothing to do with which you might end up in), you'll find that the Town might not be as well put together as it seems. You can't get out of the formal wear. It just won't come off, no matter what you do. Which wouldn't be so bad, but... it seems like these clothes will snag on just about everything in the Town, which is far from smooth. Try not to trip over those loose cobblestones, or your dress snagging on a nail sticking out from a door frame. This is really not the place for this sort of clothing. Prompt 3: e loves me, he loves me not... that's a pretty familiar game, right? For some reason, the urge to pick one of those flowers and casually pluck the petals from it while playing that game is going to grow stronger and stronger the more flowers you see. Eventually? You're just going to have to cave to it. (Certainly it doesn't help that the flowers scream a bit when you pull their petals; they still can talk right now, after all!) She loves you, she loves you not...and by the time you've picked the last petal, you've forgotten who you were even thinking of originally -- instead, the very next person you see is going to be the victim of a very impassioned declaration of love. Don't worry, you'll come back to yourself...after you declare your undying love for everyone to hear. Prompt 4: ut no matter how many people tell you not to go into the forest, however, it's still rather enticing, isn't it? It's sitting right there, waiting for you to explore it, waiting for you to just step a little bit out of the Town... And soon, you're surrounded by the dark boughs of the trees, the twisty, turny paths of the woods, where it feels like you're wandering in circles for hours upon hours -- And then, after ages of tree branches yanking at your hair and roots tripping you up, you find a clearing. And in that clearing? There's a field of flowers. They're colorless -- strangely eerie because of it, but still distinctly recognizable to the flower familiar as Asphodel. And touching any single one of those flowers will suddenly give you vivid memories of one of your precious friends -- so long as they're dead. Anyone around you is going to experience that flash of memory too, so be careful! Extra: Got something in mind? Want to play with the setting more? [to be perfectly honest, Himari's almost completely forgotten about the reason they started telling jokes in the first place. she's just assumed that if the flower isn't laughing, they haven't happened up the right combination yet.]

I know! I got all misty-eyed over it, too.

[Calypso can't help finding his statement funny. Especially after the commentary that they've been giving her and her current threats to crush them underfoot. Clearly, she's channeling Persephone.

Her laughter is almost reactionary to the comment as she looks over to the interestingly dressed man, not that she could say much in her pink puffy coat.]

We could find out.

[No, really, she wants to murder all these flowers.]

[That's, odd. If Percy had been gone for more than a few weeks there probably would have been a full out Camp Half-Blood manhunt. Yet there was nothing. There was the possibility that it had something to do with the Triumvirate, but she doubted it. Commodus clearly had no knowledge of Percy going missing or he would have tried to use it as leverage somehow.]

Do you think someone is hiding the fact that he's missing?

[It was unlikely, but the possibility was there. There were Gods and other immortals that could probably do it. The question was why they would.]

They need both of you back home.

[The flowers have been quite a pain. Between calls of 'hey richboy' to 'four-eyes' to 'why wear leather' his patience has run rather thin. He notices Aigis before the other begins to speak, and not because of how she looks...but what he can sense inside.

This is very confusing. How can she be a Persona user? Well he's not going to ask just yet...instead he'll just walk over, exasperated by both plants and confused by this...android.]

These aren't as bad as they could be, miss. We've had to deal with talking walls at one point. I might have a solution to at least get them to stop for a bit...

[Knowing what the flowers are capable of, Rosetta had parked herself near the edge of the clearing to allow passers-by their privacy. Occasionally, though, a memory would slip inside her mind and play itself out. The newest visions are sweet and tender, if a touch . . . sad.

Then there's shouting, and it shatters the illusion. Snapping back to reality, Rosetta gasps at the sight of the flower field. Fire. So much fire. It's everywhere.]

What are you doing!?

[She rushes toward the perpetrator, quiet grief and fury creeping into her voice.]

Ah, the flowers . . . They're burning . . .

[ After the way Hera had wiped their memories and then proceeded to make both Percy and Jason her champions in the fight against Gaea which also included launching seven demigods and their satyr guardian to the ancient lands, yeah, Camp Half-Blood would have had a huge fit. They already had to deal with other demigods disappearing into the nearby forest so they don't need more missing individuals.

Those left at Camp also don't know a whole lot that's been going on with Apollo's quest since they left either so something could have happened with that too. ]

If they are then they're pretty powerful for no one to notice his disappearance. Personally, I suspect it has something to do with this place.

[ Somehow he doubts that the Triumvirate has the power to make a demigod just vanish and no one else notices. Especially one of the Seven who's pretty much a legend by either Camp standards now. ]

( After evacuating from the well, waterlogged and fuming, Chocolat also happened to run into these chatty flowers. Girly flowers aren't exactly her thing, but that's not why she decided to focus so much attention on them -- Hey brat! What puddle did you fall into, you clutz?.

Let's just say she's not going to take lip from some damn plants. A 20 minute long argument has ensued.

However, this interesting method of dealing with their harassment catches her attention. These plants are obviously magic, but this is another magic user!!! Interesting! )

Hey! Kid! ( She shouts and prances over, not giving a single f*ck about the aggravated, swearing flowers she's stepping on in the meantime. ) What spell'd you use to chop 'em up like that?

[This place. She hadn't thought about this place as anything but an extension of the God's domain. Thinking about it, she probably should have. None of the Gods would be as tacky as this, and that was saying something about this place.

If this place had so much sway over their world, who else had it picked up and spirited away over the millennia without their noticing?

Then came the question she knew would. What exactly was happening that they were needed. The answer was far from good.]

There's going to be an attack on Camp Jupiter. Leo took Festus to warn them. Apollo and Meg had to go through the labyrinth.

[Which never boded well for anyone, even with Grover leading the way.]

[The words are muffled around a mouthful of cape as he tugs, and he's going to need such a nap after this. He should really have grabbed a broom or something and just poked lawless free--

Kuro might fuss and grumble, but when the chips were down, he just couldn't leave any of the other Servamps in a bind when he was right there. He'd deny they were 'siblings' all he'd like, but his actions when the chips were down proved otherwise, these days.

One of the troubles of them all living so long-- you couldn't help but become at least a little attached, no matter what.

He's still going to grumble though, especially about that flailing.]

[Hilariously, Kuro leaps back hard enough before he releases his grip that Lawless might very well pop free-- and go tumbling probably, alongside Kuro.]

[ If Phos wants to be a smartass, then fine. Two can play that game. Cairngorm is already in the know about the recurring theme of No Color Bad Colorful Good in this place, so they march right over a few steps to a patch of colorful flowers, not even bothering to say anything in response to Phos' (dumb) taunt.

Immediately, the flowers start chiming out, Ah, can you come a bit closer? You're so pretty! And reliable looking! ]

You probably just annoyed them by being so loud. [ Understandable, if you ask them. Phos annoys everyone in their vicinity and has been doing so for their entire 403 year lifespan. They put their hands on their hips, not fazed at all by the compliments they're being showered in while they stare flatly back at Phos and their mini field of beheaded flowers. ] It's pretty normal for stuff around here to do that, but it gets worse if you talk back.

[ Here's the daily dose of half criticism half advice!! ]

Nikkari Aoe-dono! [And he can't stop the laughing tone as he adds a touch more quietly,] What are you doing up there?

[Of course he will help his comrade out, as it's no trouble for him to jump to the rooftop.]

[Because soundly entangled he is. Tonbokiri will admit though, this odd costume suits Nikkari-dono well, somehow. Better than his own tight-fitting costume, that he can say little good of.]

This is real, so he should definitely continue being a good senpai to whoever is here. ]

[ Here they are, in a situation where actual aliens would be preferable to these sedentary menaces. At least an invasion is cut-and-dry: get in, beat a bunch of bad guys up, get out and do the 616 version of the shawarma meme.

Here, they have to contend with actual issues that may or may not cut deep. Momo can't help but empathize when he hears accusations of being an impostor-slash-standin; he knows how that feels.

So he wrinkles his nose in tandem with Nadia's pouting, arms crossed over his chest in blatant self-defense.

With that done, he turns on his heels. ]

Aah, you don't have to listen to them, though. I'm sure you're a great... [ uh. ] ...wasp?

[ Did he hear that right? Oh well. ]

[ this is a really convenient read of the situation, but it works. ]

[ it leaves a bad taste in her mouth to actually fight a human, even if that human has some kind of mystical power of his own. they’re so weak, and if she were to come close to killing him, she’d also feel the need to save him, and that’s entirely more work than she cares to bother with.

she extinguishes that crackle of electricity, placing her hands firmly on her hips. ]

[ she’s going to just fucking electrocute his arm, but it’s magic, so it’s more like an especially painful jolt of static electricity than a bolt of lightning. ]

You don't need to be so humble! Isn't it great to be able to tell yourself that you helped someone out just by being around?

[ Momo believes it, truly and fully. Everyone is a hero to someone around them, no matter how trivial— if Tonbo wasn't around to make Momo breathe, he's sure that he would have spent a lot more time making himself suffer in the process.

It's not about a give-and-take, but Momo is grateful. Especially since he's in strange terrain, with a slew of people he neither recognizes or has too much in common with, probably. ]

Thanks for saying you'd be happy, though! That's the best compliment you could've given me! ☆

[It is unintentional to bring up the thought that he has both helped and harmed people just by being around, so he will simply take that compliment in the spirit it was given.

And he is surprised in turn that that was the best compliment for the young man!]
