Prompt 1: t's probably been at least a little while since you managed to climb out of the well, so hopefully you've dried off by now and are enjoying poking around the Town. But who cares about all of that? More importantly, the Town has a new feature this time, for reasons entirely unknown to everyone. The flowers...seem to be talking. They have no faces, but they will definitely turn to talk to you, and if they have had their color restored, they will very brightly and contentedly compliment you, or your clothing, or wish you well. If they haven't? Prepare yourself for all sorts of horrible, horrible insults, because that's all that's coming your way. Prompt 2: ow are you settling in? Is the Town treating you well? It's not as bad as it used to be; some of the houses have color, some of the food has color and taste as well. It's been polished up a bit since everyone first got here. Granted, when you wake up that morning to find yourself in full fancy wear of many different types (all colorless, and gender has nothing to do with which you might end up in), you'll find that the Town might not be as well put together as it seems. You can't get out of the formal wear. It just won't come off, no matter what you do. Which wouldn't be so bad, but... it seems like these clothes will snag on just about everything in the Town, which is far from smooth. Try not to trip over those loose cobblestones, or your dress snagging on a nail sticking out from a door frame. This is really not the place for this sort of clothing. Prompt 3: e loves me, he loves me not... that's a pretty familiar game, right? For some reason, the urge to pick one of those flowers and casually pluck the petals from it while playing that game is going to grow stronger and stronger the more flowers you see. Eventually? You're just going to have to cave to it. (Certainly it doesn't help that the flowers scream a bit when you pull their petals; they still can talk right now, after all!) She loves you, she loves you not...and by the time you've picked the last petal, you've forgotten who you were even thinking of originally -- instead, the very next person you see is going to be the victim of a very impassioned declaration of love. Don't worry, you'll come back to yourself...after you declare your undying love for everyone to hear. Prompt 4: ut no matter how many people tell you not to go into the forest, however, it's still rather enticing, isn't it? It's sitting right there, waiting for you to explore it, waiting for you to just step a little bit out of the Town... And soon, you're surrounded by the dark boughs of the trees, the twisty, turny paths of the woods, where it feels like you're wandering in circles for hours upon hours -- And then, after ages of tree branches yanking at your hair and roots tripping you up, you find a clearing. And in that clearing? There's a field of flowers. They're colorless -- strangely eerie because of it, but still distinctly recognizable to the flower familiar as Asphodel. And touching any single one of those flowers will suddenly give you vivid memories of one of your precious friends -- so long as they're dead. Anyone around you is going to experience that flash of memory too, so be careful! Extra: Got something in mind? Want to play with the setting more? [ even though sierra has done everything in her power to stop people from insulting her, it never seems to work—especially when the things doing the insulting don’t respond well to sharp words. ]

Hag! Hussy! You old bat!

[ sierra’s mouth twitches in an annoyed smile. there are a few scattered flowers here and there that are trying to compliment her hair over the din of the insults, but by and large, the field she’s standing in is covered in angry, grey flowers.

she raises her hand to the sky, and calls down a flash of lightning that promptly sets the field on fire. the flowers scream as they burn, but sierra seems satisfied with the ashes around her.

she dusts her hands off. ]

That’s that, don’t you think?

iii. kiss from a vampire

[ it had really been an idle curiosity, to play with the flowers, and even after they started screaming when she plucked them, she wasn’t deterred too much.

so by the time the flower has been plucked clean and she drops the naked stem on the ground, her eyes are practically gleaming with a predatory light. she turns to your character, whoever they may be, and smiles in a way that shows off her fangs.

somehow, it doesn’t look good…? ]

Say, plenty of vampires have taken human lovers before.

[The temptation to just turn around and leave is great, but it's not like he expects that to work with a vampire? So, unfortunately, he can't pull that gag here. Instead, he's got his hand on the hilt of his sword, eyes narrowing automatically.

That's a weird thing she just said but he doesn't know what kind of joke it's supposed to be??]

[Is it a fight? He heard lovers and yet he thinks fight. He's broken inside.]

[ the magic hasn’t worn off yet, and sierra seems completely and totally undeterred by this man’s forceful, defensive response. she doesn’t come closer, but it seems more like her choice than his demand. ]

[He looks at her flatly, thumbing his sword out just slightly, just enough to make a difference in power. He's not taking this seriously, since vampires only screw with humans, right? It's all fun and games, and he won't have any of it!! Yeah.]

[ sierra glances to that sword. it’s powerful. not as powerful as she is, but probably more powerful than what she’s willing to match when she hasn’t had a nap yet.

she hasn’t yet declared her love for him, though, so RIP guren. ]

[ she moves her hair back over her shoulder. ]

[MARRIED??? I hate that this isn't the weirdest interaction he's ever had. She's a vampire, too, which means that it doesn't matter what nonsense she's spouting, he doesn't buy it.]

Vampires don't have feelings.

[A black cat nearby lets out a yowl and jumps about 6 feet in the air when that lightning strikes down, only to land it's back as a teenage looking human with red eyes, blue hair and eyebags so dark they look painted on.

He was hoping to find somewhere nice and quiet to nap, and this flower field wasn't it before and definitely wasn't now. He levels her with a gawping, annoying look, rubbing his back. He's going to lose his shade, at this rate...]

[Sure, the flowers were annoying, but really...]

[ she tilts her head, surveying him thoughtfully. first a cat, and now someone more human-looking—it’s not the first time she’s seen something like that, but it is the first time she’s seen a vampire do it.

[He quirks a brow, sitting back on his heels in a crouch. He really is rather catlike, even in this form.]

I wasn't going to be resting with all that noise anyway.

[ she looks him over, but even the founder can’t tell how old someone might be just by looking. she herself is nearly 900, but she doesn’t look a day over (REDACTED). ]

You could pick a better place than a field of talking weeds, though.

I was looking for one. But all the shady spots without people have flowers... or other things.

[Try asking Kuro his age, he'll just give some smarmy line about how rude it is. In actuality, he might have lost track at some point because he's That Lazy. He'll stand after a moment, not really keen on staying sitting in the ashy remains of flowers.

He can smell something different about her, inhuman, but it's not quite the same thing he'd expect in his world. The red eyes give him a good idea, though.

It's harder to find a place I won't be bothered during daylight hours than I thought in this place.

Truth be told... I did. This place has been quite the shock without adding needless insults to the mix. I daresay the flowers got what was coming to them.

I believe it's common for them to have a few when they first turn? Though most vampires I know aren't keen on sleeping with the livestock.

[he was married to boot, but Jonathan knows that when it comes to creatures with such predilections that was all too often as much of an obstacle to their desires as a sheet of wet paper. there was no point in wasting his breath bringing it up.]
