Prompt 1:
t's probably been at least a little while since you managed to climb out of the well, so hopefully you've dried off by now and are enjoying poking around the Town. But who cares about all of that? More importantly, the Town has a new feature this time, for reasons entirely unknown to everyone.
The flowers...seem to be talking. They have no faces, but they will definitely turn to talk to you, and if they have had their color restored, they will very brightly and contentedly compliment you, or your clothing, or wish you well.
If they haven't? Prepare yourself for all sorts of horrible, horrible insults, because that's all that's coming your way.
Prompt 2:
ow are you settling in? Is the Town treating you well? It's not as bad as it used to be; some of the houses have color, some of the food has color and taste as well. It's been polished up a bit since everyone first got here.
Granted, when you wake up that morning to find yourself in full fancy wear of many different types (all colorless, and gender has nothing to do with which you might end up in), you'll find that the Town might not be as well put together as it seems.
You can't get out of the formal wear. It just won't come off, no matter what you do. Which wouldn't be so bad, but... it seems like these clothes will snag on just about everything in the Town, which is far from smooth. Try not to trip over those loose cobblestones, or your dress snagging on a nail sticking out from a door frame. This is really not the place for this sort of clothing.
Prompt 3:
e loves me, he loves me not... that's a pretty familiar game, right? For some reason, the urge to pick one of those flowers and casually pluck the petals from it while playing that game is going to grow stronger and stronger the more flowers you see. Eventually? You're just going to have to cave to it.
(Certainly it doesn't help that the flowers scream a bit when you pull their petals; they still can talk right now, after all!)
She loves you, she loves you not...and by the time you've picked the last petal, you've forgotten who you were even thinking of originally -- instead, the very next person you see is going to be the victim of a very impassioned declaration of love. Don't worry, you'll come back to yourself...after you declare your undying love for everyone to hear.
Prompt 4:
ut no matter how many people tell you not to go into the forest, however, it's still rather enticing, isn't it? It's sitting right there, waiting for you to explore it, waiting for you to just step a little bit out of the Town...
And soon, you're surrounded by the dark boughs of the trees, the twisty, turny paths of the woods, where it feels like you're wandering in circles for hours upon hours --
And then, after ages of tree branches yanking at your hair and roots tripping you up, you find a clearing.
And in that clearing? There's a field of flowers. They're colorless -- strangely eerie because of it, but still distinctly recognizable to the flower familiar as Asphodel. And touching any single one of those flowers will suddenly give you vivid memories of one of your precious friends -- so long as they're dead. Anyone around you is going to experience that flash of memory too, so be careful!

I woke up and no one was there and I couldn't find Shinoa or Kimizuki or Mika or--haha, I'm so glad to see you, Guren!
( he loves his gross bad dad a lot ok. and is definitely ignoring the whole squishing bit, he's fine. )
Where've you been?
no subject
I've been stuck in this shit hole. None of the others came with you, huh...
[Unfortunate. It would have been more helpful to have more of them, and whether he admits it to himself or not, he misses them, too. He wants to know they're all okay. But Yuu, selfishly, is who he's worried about the most. He's glad he's here. At that fond thought, he blinks back down at Yuu, reaching to grab at his ear and tug. Let gooo.]
What a pain. I got the worst one.
no subject
( head tilting over to the side to lessen the pressure against his ear, yuu--does finally let go. if only because he already got his hug in and he's pretty satisfied with that. the stupid happy expression on his face doesn't fade any, even if he's wincing from guren pulling on him.
until he realizes what's coming out of guren's mouth anyway. )
What do you mean you got the worst one? I'm the best one!! You should be happy!
( NOW he's gonna start swinging fists around. moment ruined! )
no subject
[This is the amusement he missed. He'd stood straight and dusted the wrinkles out of his uniform the first chance he got, but he still has time to reach up and catch one of those fists, gripping it as he grins down at him.]
No way. [He's happy. Even as some of the gray flowers around them pipe up with their insults, telling Guren that he's garbage that can't save anyone, he doesn't care.]
I'm surprised you didn't immediately run to the most dangerous place in this town. Maybe you've got some brains, after all.
no subject
And these things need to stuff their faces! Leaves? Whatever!
no subject
Don't bother with that. Killing everything here that does that is going to leave us in a wasteland. Ignore it, and eventually, we can bring the color back.
[Ideally, at least. He drops his hand away.]
You're going to get to make new friends, again.
no subject
I can make new friends whenever I want to, you know.
( not having the shinoa squad here is. . disconcerting. he's gotten so used to their presence and mika's, used to fighting side-by-side with them. but he has guren here. he's not alone, and even if he had been, yuu would have figured it out. )
We should go somewhere else. ( without the flowers. ) What's up with this place anyway? My eyes hurt just from looking at it.
no subject
This town was completely gray when we first got here. Through our connections with each other, it seems like the color is returning... but it's not quite right, either. We're all stuck here without a way home. The forest has a mind of its own, the harbor isn't much better, and we keep having quests thrown at us.
Didn't you stick around the well and get any rundown on this already?
no subject
( he was a little too distracted by everything else in this place. the weird coloring of everything. the well itself. how many people there were around. how fucking weird, right? last he remembers, everything was still a mess and finding a town like this is super weird, but. he doesn't have to think on all of that too hard if guren's here. guren can think about it for him. it'll cause less of a headache that way.
a hand moves to give the hilt of his sword an idle pat. consoling the demon inside of it silently while he moves to keep in step with guren. )
I'm sure we'll get out of this soon, right? We've got more important stuff to deal with.
no subject
Guren considers his words for a moment, staying silent for the next handful of footsteps. When he does speak, he doesn't look to Yuu, but he's not going to rule out him Reacting, either, so he's ready for that.]
I've been here for six months now.
no subject
( low, surprised, but--he's taking a few steps to rush in front of guren and turn around on his heels anyway, trying to look him in the eye. )
I just saw you. We were driving.
no subject
Driving where?
no subject
( like he's pretty sure that's where they were going, anyway. he was on top of a car before ending up here, but--clearly he's not there anymore. )
no subject
So what's going on here? He drops his hand away.]
I've been here for six months. The last thing I remember was taking on Ky Luc. Ferid was saved. We lucked out.
Then, I woke up in that well, and I've been here ever since.
no subject
We went to Nagoya after that. There was another Seraph? The one who was uh. . summoning the Horsemen. We saved him, and all the Horsemen disappeared. All of them did. And then you said we were going to go to Tokyo to fight back.
( yeah, that sounds about right. )
But you were definitely there the whole time? Not here.
no subject
But that had to be him. Or his demon...? He frowns.]
Then there are a few possibilities. I'm going to hope it's that this place is in a pocket in time, meaning that time outside of the pocket is irrelevant. In other words, you could be pulled from any point in time, and while you're here, time won't pass...
But you're stuck here with us, now. There's no way out that we know of, but people vanish on occasion. We're working on finding a way out.
no subject
( with fingers wrapped around the hilt of his sword. not pulling ashura out, but totally ready to. slicing is clearly the best answer here. no one has gotten out yet, right? not that yuu knows what he'd cut through to get out. nothing wrong with trying though. )
I can't stay here for that long. If time does pass back home, Mika'll starve. And we still have to save everyone. And your friends're kind of on a time limit, right?
no subject
[The harshness with which he delivers that is incredible, but thankfully, he cools down after another beat. Sighing, he runs his hand through his hair.]
I know. Don't you think I've been worrying about that all along? Mika was here at one point, too. If you haven't noticed us missing, then chances are that things back home are fine.
But we can't risk relying on that, so I've been doing everything I can. I did try cutting my way out, for the record. This place can screw with your mind. You have to be careful, with that demon of yours. We're on a limited supply of everything, and there are added tricks everywhere you look.
no subject
Oops, sorry. I forgot. Mika wasn't missing from back home either, so it must be the time thing you said. And anyway, Ashuramaru and I are friends. I'm not worried about him. ( with a gloved hand palm up in front of him, eyes focused down on his fingers. ) Er. Unless this place starts messing with him. And my head. And tricks. We'll be fine, Ashura and I.
no subject
I just told you it can mess with your head! That includes your demon, you idiot! [Ugh. He's so tired.]
Look. You're to report to me before you try anything smart in this place, got it? Don't run off, don't go anywhere alone, and that includes with your demon. Always check with me beforehand.
[So strict. He's being protective...]
no subject
Did you try sailing over the ocean?
no subject
[An annoyed stare as he walks along with him.]
We've tried everything, you idiot. We ventured in the water as much as we could without it being too much of a risk. We went out as far into the forest as we could. I personally ran into a creature that would be able to take us all out even if we worked together. That counts you. The injuries from that thing took longer to heal, meaning even your little tricks wouldn't work.
[No regenerating hearts... like the last thing he remembers himself. Ugh.]
The magic that's keeping us here is beyond anything I've ever seen. I'm not staying here for kicks. We're stuck.
no subject
so being separated, possibly stuck here as long as guren has been, pulled away from the goals he's been hoping to achieve, the people he wanted to save-- )
We'll get back, Guren. I know we will. We're not done yet, right? We've got to save the world still, you and me.
no subject
[He says that, but he reaches over, affectionately ruffling Yuu's hair. He doesn't stop moving himself. He hasn't, much to the worry of everyone else in this town. But still, the encouragement is always nice.]
We'll bring everyone back. I haven't forgotten. I can't.
no subject
( these hair ruffles are loved and appreciated, even if yuu is raising a hand to try and shove guren's hand off of him. half-heartedly. he doesn't really want guren to stop. )
We'll save our family together. But I guess we'll have to figure stuff out here first?
