Mary, Mary, quite contrary How does your garden grow? With silver bells, And cockle shells, And pretty maids all in a row.
Prompt 1: t's probably been at least a little while since you managed to climb out of the well, so hopefully you've dried off by now and are enjoying poking around the Town. But who cares about all of that? More importantly, the Town has a new feature this time, for reasons entirely unknown to everyone. The flowers...seem to be talking. They have no faces, but they will definitely turn to talk to you, and if they have had their color restored, they will very brightly and contentedly compliment you, or your clothing, or wish you well. If they haven't? Prepare yourself for all sorts of horrible, horrible insults, because that's all that's coming your way. Prompt 2: ow are you settling in? Is the Town treating you well? It's not as bad as it used to be; some of the houses have color, some of the food has color and taste as well. It's been polished up a bit since everyone first got here. Granted, when you wake up that morning to find yourself in full fancy wear of many different types (all colorless, and gender has nothing to do with which you might end up in), you'll find that the Town might not be as well put together as it seems. You can't get out of the formal wear. It just won't come off, no matter what you do. Which wouldn't be so bad, but... it seems like these clothes will snag on just about everything in the Town, which is far from smooth. Try not to trip over those loose cobblestones, or your dress snagging on a nail sticking out from a door frame. This is really not the place for this sort of clothing. Prompt 3: e loves me, he loves me not... that's a pretty familiar game, right? For some reason, the urge to pick one of those flowers and casually pluck the petals from it while playing that game is going to grow stronger and stronger the more flowers you see. Eventually? You're just going to have to cave to it. (Certainly it doesn't help that the flowers scream a bit when you pull their petals; they still can talk right now, after all!) She loves you, she loves you not...and by the time you've picked the last petal, you've forgotten who you were even thinking of originally -- instead, the very next person you see is going to be the victim of a very impassioned declaration of love. Don't worry, you'll come back to yourself...after you declare your undying love for everyone to hear. Prompt 4: ut no matter how many people tell you not to go into the forest, however, it's still rather enticing, isn't it? It's sitting right there, waiting for you to explore it, waiting for you to just step a little bit out of the Town... And soon, you're surrounded by the dark boughs of the trees, the twisty, turny paths of the woods, where it feels like you're wandering in circles for hours upon hours -- And then, after ages of tree branches yanking at your hair and roots tripping you up, you find a clearing. And in that clearing? There's a field of flowers. They're colorless -- strangely eerie because of it, but still distinctly recognizable to the flower familiar as Asphodel. And touching any single one of those flowers will suddenly give you vivid memories of one of your precious friends -- so long as they're dead. Anyone around you is going to experience that flash of memory too, so be careful! Extra: Got something in mind? Want to play with the setting more? [So much for that. What a waste! There is no fun to be had pursuing someone who has no interest in an entertaining game regardless of any real desire. Disappointed but accepting, Iroha backs off, putting one hand around his own waist in a relaxed position.]

Care to explain what inspired you to confess...?

[Anyone would remember meeting this person previously, and Iroha doesn't. Nor does he appear to be the type to pull a prank. So, what is going on?]

Well, let's see...

[He rubs the back of his neck, sheepish.] For some reason I felt like playing with a flower, and after I pulled off all its petals, I wanted to tell someone I loved them! Sorry if I startled you.

[What an absurd explanation. Who ever heard of contact with a flower changing one's behaviour towards extreme amorousness?]

So you were lured.

['For some reason' could be the coverup of a grown man embarrassed to admit to he had been struck by the mood to do something silly. But in context it made sense.]

Ah, you're forgiven. [Thank goodness he was not the emotionally fragile sort.] I can't imagine why someone would cast a spell to force others to make false confessions. Boredom aside, of course.

Hmmm... Only a villain would toy with someone's hearts like that. Or perhaps it's the town itself playing tricks?

[He rubs his chin thoughtfully. It's something to investigate, if it's causing people upset.]

Oh, but please don't think I hate you! You have, um... very nice hair?

[True, Iroha's hair is silky and well-maintained yet he hadn't a need for further reassurance. It's tempting to play as if he were offended and demand All Might (wink) make it up to him (wink). He doesn't, if only because he doesn't know if he might benefit from this encounter to a greater degree by being honest over deceptive.]

Thank you. Yours is likewise interesting. [Bunny ears...] If you are agreeable, I am willing to destroy the troublemaker plants and say no more about what has transpired here.

Good idea! It's sad to destroy flowers, but if they're being used to trick people, it's for the best. I'll investigate what might be behind this. Farewell for now, mister--!

[...He says that, turning in an exaggerated pose to chase after wrongdoing. But a thought occurs to him and he freezes on the spot, some of his bravado wilting.]

...I didn't get your name...

[An overflowing fountain of energy. Mildly curious, Iroha wonders where its limits lie. It looks as if he won't find out any time soon since their brief, comical affair appears to have reached a natural conclusion. It surprises him to see that this is not the case.]

Iroha. [Bows - ] And you are?

[Besides extremely well-mannered. Hmn. Iroha had nothing better to do so he situated himself beside All Might in a 'let's go for a stroll' position. He's betting that the other man won't refuse because it would rude to take off without someone who appears to want to come along.]

Hm? I need no introduction. Why? Because I am... ALL MIGHT!

[He strikes a dramatic pose. You can practically see the stars and stripes billowing behind him.]

The Number One Hero and Symbol of Peace! The defender of justice and vanquisher of evil! I... am here!

[Forget going for a stroll, he has a ridiculous character introduction to get through first. Even if people don't know All Might in this world, surely they'll feel better knowing someone is looking out for them.]

[Forget not knowing All Might, Number One Hero (he could hear the capitalization), Iroha has no concept of comic book superheroes. Nothing about the spandex had rung any bells, and right now all Iroha could do was look on, bewildered at the theatrical display he had just triggered.

Still, the shock doesn't last too long. He's in the entertainment business himself so that much is recognizable. Saying he has no clue whose presence he is lucky enough to bask in would be the worst response.]

Of course, I should have known. My apologies for failing to recognize you in person. We are fortunate to benefit from your watchful eye.

[That sounds about right. Iroha had never been one for 'justice' but people who were took it as seriously as a blood oath.]

Ha ha ha! It's fine if you don't recognise me at all! We're from many different worlds, after all.

[He pats Iroha on the back, again with probably more force than intended. The fact that he's being humoured is more entertaining in itself than he'd like to admit.]

[That simple pat reminds Iroha why his interest had been caught so vividly in the first place. He can tell it's an impressive thwack that ought to send a normal person off-balance because he's spend a lifetime judging such things so he can pretend to react appropriately. It's an unbelievable relief to just...not do that. To take that too-strong hit and without being questioned or putting his stable lifestyle in jeopardy.]

Yes, that truth must not be overlooked. Your appearance is...unparalleled. Men are a rare sight in my world. Men of your stature, I truthfully cannot claim I have once laid eyes upon your equal.

[It might sound flattering but after that over-the-top introduction he feels more at ease in offering an explanation why his gaze was pinned so firmly.]

[It's impossible to miss the way Iroha isn't sent off-balance, but it's not strange enough for All Might to question it. He's stronger than he looks -- what of it? That's so often the case in a world full of quirks, and no doubt it's the case here.]

Does this mean I have a new fan from another world? How exciting! [He grins brightly and begins to walk, not minding if Iroha still wants to tag along.] You can have my autograph to take back with you, if you like.

[You bet your sweet bippy Iroha's not letting this barracuda get away. Some measure of restraint is necessary in not telling All Might where exactly he can sign that autograph and with which ink.]

A fan? [It's not a common word but with context he gets it.] Certainly, although if there are requirements to maintaining the title you must excuse my ignorance. There is much to learn, although you appear to have adapted...?

[It's only Iroha who grapples with the concept of infinite worlds, and the difference in cultures. None of his closely-held secrets mattered anymore! It was both freeing and very unusual.]

[All Might certainly has experiences in adapting to other cultures -- some might say he's adapted a little too well. Though even if he felt out of his depth here, he'll still hide it behind that big smile.]

Ha ha ha ha! Consider this a learning experience, from UA's newest teacher.

[And possibly its worst, but hey. He takes out a pen he carries with him for just such occasions as this (don't ask where) and, for want of anywhere better to sign, crouches down and leans in to autograph his shirt.]

Please hold still for just a moment!

[Iroha handled clients with big names and bigger egos with respect and discretion. Almost exclusively women, and none as big and blond as this masterpiece. His demon half struggled to come out. Iroha swallowed and clamped down on the hot-blooded yearnings, his eyes searching for a point to land on that wasn't All Might's tempting, skin-tight-]

Permanent...?

[What was that written on the side of the writing instrument?]

Forgive me, All Might-san, I must refuse [putting a hand up to block the Sharpie's nib] unless you are willing to perform this ritual of devotion to me in return.

[That's unlikely. His clothes are saved, right?]

[It's definitely permanent. Only the best for his fans, even the thirsty ones! Though he stops, visibly startled, when Iroha puts up a hand.]

Ritual? What ritual?

[He draws back. Yes, it would seem Iroha's clothes are saved, although now he looks puzzled.]

[That's alright. A change in facial expression is good for All Might anyway; didn't his mother tell him if he isn't careful his face will get stuck like that? Unless... it is already too late??]

Providing your name written by your own hand to be cherished by your devotee. A shrine offering to the gods in reverse, one might say.

[Iroha is firmly planted in the camp of thought which dictates no one does anything without receiving some benefit to themselves. All Might must benefit from keeping his fans loyal. Number One Hero, hm. Many of Iroha's clients shared secrets with their favourite courtesan because no one else could be trusted to see behind their mask. Of course he recognized All Might wore one too.]

[It's already far too late for this one, his face got stuck like this a long time ago.]

Hm... So are you trying to say you want to exchange autographs?

[He rubs his chin for a second, debating, then straightens up and laughs.] HA HA HA HA! That's fine! I've never received anything like that from a fan before!

[If he sleeps with that grin on it's gonna be creepy.]

[Holding his hand out for the pen. Going first is a power move, obvi. Since he's kicking himself now that the ruination of his shirt is inevitable. There is no way to escape without appearing rude.]

Yes!

[He's intrigued, so he hands him the pen, then stands in his best superhero pose with his hands on his hips. He might have to get a new suit after this and save this one for the fans if the signings become a fad, but...]

[Nice. Iroha's gaze moves upwards as if he needs to choose the perfect spot, and he smiles faintly when he casually takes in the sight of more of him, thinking now that his hair was more like insect antenna than bunny ears? What does it look like when he's relaxed...

Enjoying the moment, even if he doesn't care about All Might's fanbase it amuses him to claim this first, Iroha t a k e s h i s t i me writing his name on the white stretch of costume dead-center on All Might's chest. A sakura-flower flourish draws it out - his name's too short to get a good, suggestive pressure on without adding a little something.]

[The problem with having a beefy barrel chest: it's impossible to see clearly just what Iroha is writing (or drawing), so he just watches patiently until it seems like he's done.]

You should work on speeding up your autograph technique. Who knows when you'll have lines of fans waiting for your signature?

[Is he being intentionally or unintentionally dense? Who knows.]

[Pffhaha. Sorry not sorry, All Might. Iroha smiles, he's sure that everything All Might does is as calculated as any image-prep he's done for himself.]

Oh, I have had my share of strangers clamoring for my attention.

[Admires his work. While the ink dries. Totally what he's doing. Alas, he eventually hands over the pen.]

Hurrying our time together would be no less than insulting.

Well, it's an honour to have the autograph of such a big fan!

[Pats him on the shoulder again, this time remembering to hold back a little on his strength, then takes the pen. His own autograph is done in an instant, on the left side of Iroha's robe.]

There you have it. Thanks for your continued support!

[That signature. SO. HUGE!! Does this person perform any act with subtle grace? Washing dishes, maybe. Ah - now he's imagined All Night delicately handling a paper-thin porcelain tea cup.]

You're very thoughtful.

[He means that. Holding back when making contact was the merest hint of depth to his personality. It occurs to Iroha that All Might wouldn't accept his offer of an interlude even if he did want that release. A god mustn't show favor towards any individual devotee lest they feel slighted.]

Don't allow your considerate nature to burden you forever, yes? We all need to let our hair down once in a while. Say, over drinks?

[Maybe he's too wholesome to drink anything except milk.]
