Prompt 1:
 he forest looms, uninviting and full of menace, an unwelcoming place for sure. Time to go explore! It isn't as though there's anywhere else to go, now that you've looked around the Town.
The trees whack at you with branches that have far too much mobility for normal trees, strange and mutated animals watch from the shadows and boughs, and there’s the constant, constant sense of being watched --
But eventually, nonetheless, you’ll come across a small house in the forest. It sticks out like a sore thumb, bright and colorful, which is probably the first warning that something is way off, and it’s...covered in candy. It’s a candy house! It looks delicious.
(It’s empty, too, not a single soul in it, without even furniture, but everything is otherwise edible and utterly delicious.)
But if you eat the candy? You’re going to have a terrible, overwhelming urge to do one of two things:
- Fight the first person you see
- Kiss the first person you see
Unfortunate.
Prompt 2:
he problem with a Town like this is that now that color is starting to return, bit by bit? You never really know when color’s going to come back -- or disappear. Maybe you’ve made a delightful, delicious sandwich from handmade bread and tomatoes and deer meat, all of which have color now… and then suddenly, when taking a bite, you get only the taste of ash and bread and tomato as the deer meat loses color.
Also, someone probably died for that color to fade away. Alarming!
Or maybe you’re walking along when suddenly your makeshift clothing is a hideous mix-match of colors; it had seemed fine when it was all grey and colorless!
Or perhaps, even worse, you’re walking out of a house when suddenly, the flowerbed in front of it has full color, bright and maybe a little blinding after so much monochrome. Damn those color mechanics.
Prompt 3:
he quest seems simple, on the Quest Post:
Quest 33:
Feed the Cockatrice.
Requirements: 2 of any color
Key word, of course, is seems. First, you have to find the cockatrice. Maybe grab someone to drag into the woods with you, since there needs to be at least two of you. Time to stomp through the woods in search of the elusive cockatrice.
Of course, once you find it, the quest...looks a bit harder. The monster hisses, ready to turn anyone who approaches to stone, as cockatrice tend to do. What do you even feed that thing? How will you get it to take it without getting stoned up? There are so many questions.
At least the stone will wear off...eventually… if you’re unlucky enough to get petrified.
Prompt 4:
 ut hey, you did it! You fed the cockatrice, it seemed satisfied, and now you can go fetch your reward from your home. It must be something amazing, with the work that you put in.
The only change in your home, though, is what looks like a...picture book. It's got a colorful cover (in your character's color shade), and has their name on the cover, so it definitely belongs to them.
And when they flip it open, it's clearly full of pictures scribbled in, as if drawn in scribbly crayon. Unlike the rest of the Town, this book is fully colorful, every shade of the rainbow in those crayon strokes... which depict, page by page, your character's worst moments in their life. Every single last horrific experience or tragic moment -- it's all there, in colorful, cute children's drawings.

[He's so MEAN, but it's meant to be teasing more than any genuine insults. She's good with combat, he can tell that!! But he's here to make sure a bird doesn't look at them and cause them both to die just from that.]
We have to move carefully, and avoid looking at it directly. Remember, we're planning this out before we do anything rash. [He glances down at whatever random ass food he's brought. Hmm, a plan to shove this in its mouth and run...]

I know how to fight a cockatrice, believe it or not! My brother and I have seen a ton of these things, and how many have you seen, Mister Military Man? You shouldn't assume things just based on the way people look!

Then go out and do it yourself, if you're so capable. [This quest isn't for one person, and he's very aware of that, but he says it so coldly it almost sounds like he'd let her try it. Spoilers: he wouldn't.]
If you don't want to do that, then either give me some genuine tips or stop squeaking at me.

[ she very rudely points her finger at him as if to punctuate every word, and it's becoming increasingly clear that she could probably overpower a cockatrice on raw energy alone. ]
Anyway, they're really resistant to being put to sleep or anything, so we can't just knock it out and put the food in its mouth. You knew that, right?

[He completely ignored her dramatic finger pointing yelling, because that's just, he's not even surprised. He seems to annoy people more when he refuses to acknowledge it, too.]
Just getting close to it is a risk, too, it seems. I doubt that just stabbing out its eyes is going to help. [Violent...]

[damn, just like that. But alright, he's realizing quickly that there's no way to plan out something in advance here. They don't know how this thing works. There's no way to think ahead. And sometimes, you have to just jump into things.]
Whatever. It looks like there's not much of a choice. [He draws his sword from his side and passes Nanami the bag of mystery food.] We'll go with what you said. I'll distract it, you get the food in its mouth.

[ she only avoids launching into another complete tirade because he forces her to take the bag of food, but her face is flushed in anger again as she swings from mood to mood. if guren doesn't watch himself he's going to get a kick to the face! ] Fine! I hope it paralyzes you and swallows you whole!!

[Maybe it will! Wouldn't that be great!! But, for now, they've got to get serious. He moves through the trees, eyeing the creature.]
I'll start now. Pay attention and go when you think it's safe. [And with that, he's running off!! Soon enough... there are trees falling down? It's drawing the attention of the cockatrice, certainly, but Guren knows it won't hold it. He's just trying to find a way to divert its stare and still get closer.]

[ whispered, to herself, when she catches him in action—but she's not going to let herself get sidetracked, and so then she's running too, leaping onto its back and using her rod as a kind of makeshift collar to wrangle it from behind. the bag of food hangs from her waist. ]

He knocks another tree down, though this is winding him considerably. He's not like, a vampire... He can't tap into this kind of strength for long at all. Eventually, he'll have to run out.]

[ she's clinging to it tightly now, and there's an uncomfortable few seconds where she has to press herself against it to keep her balance and grab the food. recklessly, she just kind of... punches it into its beak from behind, and her arm is quite immediately turned to stone. ]
Gyah—! [ a high-pitched squeal, and there she goes... tumbling off. ]

Of course, he's barely going to make it. He jumps and then drops his sword, letting his arms wrap around Nanami if he can reach her. That won't stop them from crashing right into the ground, anyway, but he's hoping to take some of the impact here.

[ the cockatrice is a little busy choking after her impressive shove, and so nanami is able to take a second to recover from her fall—and, at the most inappropriate time in the world, blush because there's a handsome man with his arms wrapped around her. or, his arms were wrapped around her, and now they're both in a painful pile on the ground. ]

[That smarts. He shifts more carefully than his earlier rude comments would suggest, making sure that Nanami doesn't just tumble to the ground from it. But he needs to sit up himself, and as he manages to do that, he glances back across the distance where he dropped his sword. Recovering it won't be too much of an issue.]
I'm fine. Can you stand? We need to get away from this thing before it turns us entirely to stone.
