Prompt 1:
he forest looms, uninviting and full of menace, an unwelcoming place for sure. Time to go explore! It isn't as though there's anywhere else to go, now that you've looked around the Town.
The trees whack at you with branches that have far too much mobility for normal trees, strange and mutated animals watch from the shadows and boughs, and there’s the constant, constant sense of being watched --
But eventually, nonetheless, you’ll come across a small house in the forest. It sticks out like a sore thumb, bright and colorful, which is probably the first warning that something is way off, and it’s...covered in candy. It’s a candy house! It looks delicious.
(It’s empty, too, not a single soul in it, without even furniture, but everything is otherwise edible and utterly delicious.)
But if you eat the candy? You’re going to have a terrible, overwhelming urge to do one of two things:
- Fight the first person you see
- Kiss the first person you see
Unfortunate.
Prompt 2:
he problem with a Town like this is that now that color is starting to return, bit by bit? You never really know when color’s going to come back -- or disappear. Maybe you’ve made a delightful, delicious sandwich from handmade bread and tomatoes and deer meat, all of which have color now… and then suddenly, when taking a bite, you get only the taste of ash and bread and tomato as the deer meat loses color.
Also, someone probably died for that color to fade away. Alarming!
Or maybe you’re walking along when suddenly your makeshift clothing is a hideous mix-match of colors; it had seemed fine when it was all grey and colorless!
Or perhaps, even worse, you’re walking out of a house when suddenly, the flowerbed in front of it has full color, bright and maybe a little blinding after so much monochrome. Damn those color mechanics.
Prompt 3:
he quest seems simple, on the Quest Post:
Quest 33: Feed the Cockatrice. Requirements: 2 of any color Key word, of course, is seems. First, you have to find the cockatrice. Maybe grab someone to drag into the woods with you, since there needs to be at least two of you. Time to stomp through the woods in search of the elusive cockatrice.
Of course, once you find it, the quest...looks a bit harder. The monster hisses, ready to turn anyone who approaches to stone, as cockatrice tend to do. What do you even feed that thing? How will you get it to take it without getting stoned up? There are so many questions.
At least the stone will wear off...eventually… if you’re unlucky enough to get petrified.
Prompt 4:
ut hey, you did it! You fed the cockatrice, it seemed satisfied, and now you can go fetch your reward from your home. It must be something amazing, with the work that you put in.
The only change in your home, though, is what looks like a...picture book. It's got a colorful cover (in your character's color shade), and has their name on the cover, so it definitely belongs to them.
And when they flip it open, it's clearly full of pictures scribbled in, as if drawn in scribbly crayon. Unlike the rest of the Town, this book is fully colorful, every shade of the rainbow in those crayon strokes... which depict, page by page, your character's worst moments in their life. Every single last horrific experience or tragic moment -- it's all there, in colorful, cute children's drawings.
Congratulations!

Hey, hey! What're you doing? Yeah, this is a pretty weird house, but what if someone actually lives there?!
[ Without any warning, Josuke calls out his Stand. A huge, pink man-ghost seems to phase right out of him, moving over to join Batman in giving that door a huge punch. Only, rather than break the door apart further, his punch seems to restore it, the broken pieces of the door floating back into place. In seconds, it's as good as new.
Bruce will lose whatever samples he had collected too, as they return back to their rightful place. Local large 16-year old is here to ruin your fun. ]
no subject
Bruce just stands there, hands dropping to his sides as he watches the man... ghost... thing punch the door back into order and it takes a lot of self-control not to just drop his head back and sigh. Actually, no, he does do that exactly because wow, what a day. ]
Seriously?
[ He was almost done too. He can't believe this. ]
your batsy is somehow so cute
Yeah, seriously! [ He's not the one in the wrong here! Don't take this tone with him, buster. He'll put you in time-out, or something. With no further need for its services, the large, pink, swole ghost phases back into Josuke, disappearing. ] You can't just break shit down because you want to!
[ And it looks extra weird to be doing that in a batsuit?? Sometimes, he feels like the only normal person in the universe. ]
ahh!! thank you he's trying his best ok
The amount of unimpressed emotion coming out of Bruce right now is insane. He's the one dressed like a giant bat and yet he's just kind of staring at Josuke like he's the annoying one here. He should probably ask about the swole ghost but honestly, he's seen weirder. Instead he's just going to focus on what he can see. ]
There's no furniture in this house. There's nothing to indicate the presence of anyone else here, it's a shell. A shell that's most likely a trap of some kind. You're really that concerned about preserving it?
[ Because he sure ain't. ]
no subject
Uh ... I see what you mean. [ Well, he kind of feels dumb now, thanks. This house is totally a trap. It even reminds him of a Stand that he's faced back home, that was basically also a trap. ] I guess -- Maybe I owe you an apology.
[ Whoops? Well, the batsuit is still weird. He's still going to kinshame. ]
no subject
Don't need it. You could do something for me though.
[ Is he really -- yeah, he is. Bruce's expression is entirely flat as he holds out a gumdrop that he took from the house. He's fairly positive that it won't result in death -- that would be illogical and against the point of this entire exercise. Something will happen and he wants to see what. ]
Eat this.
no subject
[ He does feel bad for ruining Batman's plan before, but he's also cautious enough to not go putting suspicious things into his mouth. ] Hold on, what if it's gonna do something weird to me?
no subject
Most likely will.
[ Thanks Bruce!!!!!!!!! But his next reply is supposed to be more "reassuring" and it's just -- ]
I'll be here to take care of anything that happens. Eat it.
[ jfc bruce ]
no subject
Wait a sec! Why don't you eat it? Then I'll take care of whatever happens to you!
no subject
Because you owe me, for the interruption.
[ also, he trusts himself way more than he trusts you. obviously. ]
no subject
Seriously? [ Now it's Josuke's turn to shoot him an incredulous 'seriously?'. It's true that he ruined his research, but it wasn't like Josuke's was intentionally trying to cause a disruption. He was only doing what he thought was right.
However, it's true that he does feel guilty, and that's what sways him to the side of doing what Bruce says. ] Damn it -- Fine! But I can't heal myself, so if something awful happens to me I'm totally gonna come back and haunt your ass.
[ Though he doesn't actually believe anything too drastic will happen to him, he has to assert that anyway. Josuke then plops the gumdrop into his mouth, chewing it and swallowing it. At least it tastes pretty good. ]
no subject
give him a moment to consider the wording there. you can't heal yourself? most people can't, josuke. it makes bruce wonder what exactly is josuke's normal context if that's something he thinks is appropriate to say. he's just curious.
but he ate the candy, so bruce crosses his arms over his chest and waits. what's gonna happen next!! ]
So?

no subject
[ Then, without any warning, he throws a punch directly at Bruce's face. If Bruce is sharp enough he'll notice that the boy's fists are no longer his own, replaced by that of the pink ... swole ghost that was present earlier on. His strength is also triplefold, nowhere near that of a regular teenager. Whether he manages to land a hit or not will depend on Bruce's reflexes. ]
no subject
Literally, as in when there's a swing coming for him, he's absolutely jumping backwards to dodge the punch. His reflexes are very good -- his fighting style is mostly hit hard and fast, be too fast to be hit back so he's not exactly worried, brute strength always fails against him. Still, it's a little unfortunate that this teenager suddenly wants to kick his ass.
He's kind of reminded of Billy for a moment? Or Shazam, rather. ]
Alright. Unfortunate. Can you still speak, boy?
no subject
Failing to hit his target, the boy isn't quite satisfied, the effects of the poison still keeping him in a blind rage. He turns to Bruce now, calling out his Stand. ]
COME AND FACE ME, BASTARD! [ That Stand will go over and uh ... try to punch the crap out of him? It might make a weird battle-cry that goes something like 'DORARARARA!'. Any punches that do make contact will heal immediately, but now that he can't concentrate well, there's always a chance that the affected area might take on a strange deformity as a result. Yeah, it's best not to get hit by him. ]
no subject
Hey, kid.
[ Bruce is grabbing the grappling hook at the belt and shooting it towards the roof of the candy house, letting it fly and pulling Bruce upwards so he can land in a crouch at the top.
Then he punches down, pulling out a fist full of gumdrops when he pulls his hand back and taking the large gumdrop of the lot and aiming at Jotaro's mouth. ]
You should eat more candy.
[ He is definitely shooting at him now. C'mon, Jotaro, eat the candy!! ]
