Prompt 1:
he forest looms, uninviting and full of menace, an unwelcoming place for sure. Time to go explore! It isn't as though there's anywhere else to go, now that you've looked around the Town.
The trees whack at you with branches that have far too much mobility for normal trees, strange and mutated animals watch from the shadows and boughs, and there’s the constant, constant sense of being watched --
But eventually, nonetheless, you’ll come across a small house in the forest. It sticks out like a sore thumb, bright and colorful, which is probably the first warning that something is way off, and it’s...covered in candy. It’s a candy house! It looks delicious.
(It’s empty, too, not a single soul in it, without even furniture, but everything is otherwise edible and utterly delicious.)
But if you eat the candy? You’re going to have a terrible, overwhelming urge to do one of two things:
- Fight the first person you see
- Kiss the first person you see
Unfortunate.
Prompt 2:
he problem with a Town like this is that now that color is starting to return, bit by bit? You never really know when color’s going to come back -- or disappear. Maybe you’ve made a delightful, delicious sandwich from handmade bread and tomatoes and deer meat, all of which have color now… and then suddenly, when taking a bite, you get only the taste of ash and bread and tomato as the deer meat loses color.
Also, someone probably died for that color to fade away. Alarming!
Or maybe you’re walking along when suddenly your makeshift clothing is a hideous mix-match of colors; it had seemed fine when it was all grey and colorless!
Or perhaps, even worse, you’re walking out of a house when suddenly, the flowerbed in front of it has full color, bright and maybe a little blinding after so much monochrome. Damn those color mechanics.
Prompt 3:
he quest seems simple, on the Quest Post:
Quest 33: Feed the Cockatrice. Requirements: 2 of any color Key word, of course, is seems. First, you have to find the cockatrice. Maybe grab someone to drag into the woods with you, since there needs to be at least two of you. Time to stomp through the woods in search of the elusive cockatrice.
Of course, once you find it, the quest...looks a bit harder. The monster hisses, ready to turn anyone who approaches to stone, as cockatrice tend to do. What do you even feed that thing? How will you get it to take it without getting stoned up? There are so many questions.
At least the stone will wear off...eventually… if you’re unlucky enough to get petrified.
Prompt 4:
ut hey, you did it! You fed the cockatrice, it seemed satisfied, and now you can go fetch your reward from your home. It must be something amazing, with the work that you put in.
The only change in your home, though, is what looks like a...picture book. It's got a colorful cover (in your character's color shade), and has their name on the cover, so it definitely belongs to them.
And when they flip it open, it's clearly full of pictures scribbled in, as if drawn in scribbly crayon. Unlike the rest of the Town, this book is fully colorful, every shade of the rainbow in those crayon strokes... which depict, page by page, your character's worst moments in their life. Every single last horrific experience or tragic moment -- it's all there, in colorful, cute children's drawings.
Congratulations!

i actually already went to bed but climbed out of bed to tag this ... ah .... thirst
what kind of yaoi is this, he didn't sign up for it ] Eugh ... [ Just going to ... let him do that then. ]
I wouldn't do that ...? That'll just be weird and kinda gross. [ he's not ed?? he won't be feeding you boots homie, don't worry. ] Are there people who do that?
High thirst quotient.....
So he's just here, hugging onto Josuke's leg and whining about eating clothes. Thank you for supporting him.]
Yes... Cruel men who would feed food unfit for a rat to their dearest friends...
[His tragic tale... He looks up imploringly.]
Do you have any money?
no subject
But what a joke, asking Josuke of all people for money. Haha!!! The funniest joke. ]
I got like 250 yen in my wallet, about enough to buy a piece of bread, but first of all -- I don't even think this place will take it. [ He doesn't even know what currency this town uses yet, if they even do any trading at all. And also, because he's starting to catch onto this guy's game now: ]
So if you're trying to mooch some money off of me you really shouldn't bother.
no subject
I'm trying not to starve! I'll open a tab!
[And never pay it but this dude doesn't need to know this. Ling is now more or less rubbing his face on Josuke's knee. Feed... him...]
So hungry...
1/2
[ God, he's really hoping no one's actually around to see this very embarrassing scene. Well, not that it would matter since he doesn't actually know anyone yet, so it's not like he has a reputation to uphold. ]
no subject
[ Guren told him that hunting might work. That's something they can try. ] C'mon. You look like you're half-dead, so I'll carry you.
[ He's going to casually pick a homie up and throw him over his shoulder now. ]
no subject
Ling lets go and allows himself to be tossed over Josuke's shoulder like a useless sack of potatoes, though. He heard real food and he's in, what does he have to do... Does it involve moving.]
I almost thought you weren't going to help me... [he says to Josuke's legs] You really are kind...
no subject
Were you ever going to let me go if I didn't? [ Josuke's too nice to kick the guy off too, so he would basically be cursed to live with a weirdo stuck to his legs until Ling finds another poor sap to be stuck to the legs of.
... He also would have helped anyway, because he's a good boy despite appearances. ] Mr. Guren told me that most people here hunt their food. I figure we could go fish ... I'm starving too, so I was actually already on my way to do that.
no subject
Now we'll never know. [but yes, Josuke would have been stuck with him for all time, or until he got tired and gave up. He's pretty content here over his shoulder... thanks for being so huge.]
What are we going to fish with?
[Just wondering how this is going to go without a whole, like, fishing setup.]
no subject
Well, we could go find a net, but I don't even know where I would look for one. [ So. So. ] I was planning to just punch the fish.
[ Punch. The. Fish. ]
1/2 just for this
no subject
Haha... but really, what's the plan?
no subject
... That's the plan? I'm gonna punch the fish. [ Completely serious. Look, he's done it before. It works. ]
no subject
Then what?
no subject
Hey, what's with that tone? You don't think it's a good plan, do you? [ Trust him! He's smort and he has a big, muscley ghost! ]
no subject
[his savior, Josuke. if he starves it's on you.]
no subject
'Savior' is a little dramatic but, he'll roll with it. ] Just trust me on this! I've never had a plan go awry.
[ Never has a bigger lie been told. ] Anyway, I've already tried it out once. Now, I think the river's gotta be somewhere around here --
[ He'll be crossing the woods to get to it soon. ]
no subject
You don't even know where the river is...? It's not as if you'll find it no matter what direction you walk.
no subject
I do know! I was there just now. Just gotta ... rework it in my mind. [ Sure would be easier if he had a map, though. Sad. ] You're a real noisy passenger, y'know that?
[ Trust him!!!!!!!!! He always knows what he's doing. Clearly. ] Oh, my name's Josuke, by the way. What's yours?
no subject
Just making sure you know what you're doing! I'm Ling.
no subject
[ Haha. Anyway he's starting to remember the way to the river now! Blessed. ] 'Ling' ... That's kinda Chinese, isn't it?
no subject
[He kind of has a weird group of friends. Anyway what's Chinese!] Xingese, actually.
[audience laughs at clearly Chinese boy saying something that sounds like Chinese but still isnt]
no subject
Xing? I've never heard of that country. You definitely look like you could be in a kung-fu movie. [ Those clothes, he means. Nobody even dresses like that anymore, from what he knows. ] What's your home like?
