Prompt 1:
he forest looms, uninviting and full of menace, an unwelcoming place for sure. Time to go explore! It isn't as though there's anywhere else to go, now that you've looked around the Town.
The trees whack at you with branches that have far too much mobility for normal trees, strange and mutated animals watch from the shadows and boughs, and there’s the constant, constant sense of being watched --
But eventually, nonetheless, you’ll come across a small house in the forest. It sticks out like a sore thumb, bright and colorful, which is probably the first warning that something is way off, and it’s...covered in candy. It’s a candy house! It looks delicious.
(It’s empty, too, not a single soul in it, without even furniture, but everything is otherwise edible and utterly delicious.)
But if you eat the candy? You’re going to have a terrible, overwhelming urge to do one of two things:
- Fight the first person you see
- Kiss the first person you see
Unfortunate.
Prompt 2:
he problem with a Town like this is that now that color is starting to return, bit by bit? You never really know when color’s going to come back -- or disappear. Maybe you’ve made a delightful, delicious sandwich from handmade bread and tomatoes and deer meat, all of which have color now… and then suddenly, when taking a bite, you get only the taste of ash and bread and tomato as the deer meat loses color.
Also, someone probably died for that color to fade away. Alarming!
Or maybe you’re walking along when suddenly your makeshift clothing is a hideous mix-match of colors; it had seemed fine when it was all grey and colorless!
Or perhaps, even worse, you’re walking out of a house when suddenly, the flowerbed in front of it has full color, bright and maybe a little blinding after so much monochrome. Damn those color mechanics.
Prompt 3:
he quest seems simple, on the Quest Post:
Quest 33: Feed the Cockatrice. Requirements: 2 of any color Key word, of course, is seems. First, you have to find the cockatrice. Maybe grab someone to drag into the woods with you, since there needs to be at least two of you. Time to stomp through the woods in search of the elusive cockatrice.
Of course, once you find it, the quest...looks a bit harder. The monster hisses, ready to turn anyone who approaches to stone, as cockatrice tend to do. What do you even feed that thing? How will you get it to take it without getting stoned up? There are so many questions.
At least the stone will wear off...eventually… if you’re unlucky enough to get petrified.
Prompt 4:
ut hey, you did it! You fed the cockatrice, it seemed satisfied, and now you can go fetch your reward from your home. It must be something amazing, with the work that you put in.
The only change in your home, though, is what looks like a...picture book. It's got a colorful cover (in your character's color shade), and has their name on the cover, so it definitely belongs to them.
And when they flip it open, it's clearly full of pictures scribbled in, as if drawn in scribbly crayon. Unlike the rest of the Town, this book is fully colorful, every shade of the rainbow in those crayon strokes... which depict, page by page, your character's worst moments in their life. Every single last horrific experience or tragic moment -- it's all there, in colorful, cute children's drawings.
Congratulations!

gladion | pokemon ultra sun/moon
Shh... leave them be...
[Tense voice in hushed tones was spoken to the chimeric creature that padded slow and close to the blond teen. A hand, gentle as anything, brushed behind the creature's ears as Gladion urged it to pay no mind to the disturbing beings watching the two of them so intently. Silvally cut a growl short to whine, turning an uncertain gaze on to its trainer. Those things were a threat, Gladion...]
I know...
[The teen sighed as they continued to move through the forest, understanding the Pokemon's feelings on the matter.]
We don't know what they are, though.
[He didn't need a Rotom-Dex to understand that they were not Pokemon, and while he had the utmost faith in his small but capable team he wasn't foolish enough to send any of them at creatures that were an utter mystery to them.
Distracted in his thoughts his cheek just below his eye met with a particularly sharp slap from a branch, drawing blood from a stinging laceration. He stumbled and hissed, earning an even louder worried sound from Sivally. Fingers to his cheek, he brushed the dripping blood away without a care for actually stopping it or cleaning the wound. It burned but there was little he could do out there in the woods.]
I'm fine.
[A grumble, partially a lie, but enough to calm Sivally. A handful of steps through the forest later and they were greeted with the odd house built of, all things, candy. He had never been one for sweets and frankly the smell even from a distance was a touch on the sickening side. Sivally, on the other hand, was curious and began inching towards it with sniffing with interest.
Gladion held a hand over the uninjured side of his face (for some reason) and stared at the structure with an impressed scowl.]
What sort of joke is- Sivally, don't eat that!
[Too late. The chimerical Pokemon had already gone and licked the siding of the door, stopping only when Gladion called out and looking vaguely like a pet caught doing something naughty. Naturally neither of them had any idea that there was something... off about the confections that made up the house, but Gladion wasn't about to trust anything made of food just sitting out in a forest somewhere.
Too bad Sivally didn't seem to have the same level of caution.]
ii. a ray of sunshine he is not
[Clothing was only going to last for so long without needing a good wash. Even heavy duty clothing used for frequent and lengthy traveling like what Gladion wore almost every day would eventually need to be cleaned lest it continue to build up stink among other things.
He had come across little more than rags to replace his usual fare, but they were wearable, gray rags that didn't offend his edgelord senses too terribly much.
That was until someone decided to turn the colored lights back on to his baggy shirt, revealing it to be a very, very unbearably bright shade of yellow.
It was almost blinding. He could have easily become a lighthouse had he been standing anywhere near the docks. As it was he was simply in the middle of Flavo, the sudden change enough to make him stop and cry out like he had been struck.]
AUUGH!
[It wasn't like he was against color...
Just. Not that horrible shade of yellow. Couldn't he have chanced on something a little more muted at the very least?
Not his luck it seemed. Feel free to annoy him over how much he's standing out, or just ask why he's making so much noise over a shirt.
Alternatively bother him about the strange feathered dog-like creature standing at his side staring at him in complete confusion. Silvally really doesn't see what the problem is...]

[I am also late but if you want to hit me up for anything feel free to throw things at my head-- I mean contact me on plurk via
ii
At least it doesn't clash with your hair.
[Also, what sort of animal was that even? Some kind of dog...?]
no subject
... what sort of observation is that?
[He might be a bit annoyed. And grumpy. Always grumpy.]
no subject
[Okay but she's still staring.]
Is that your...dog?
no subject
Sivally is a synthetic Pokemon. They are my partner.
[Sivally preens a little at the reply, looking quite proud of themselves. Damn skippy they're Gladion's partner.]
no subject
[She has an expression as if she had no idea what he means. Except maybe the partner bit. And synthetic...maybe he was like Momotaro then?]
Can I pet them?
II
It's not like we have a lot of choice in...most things, in this place, right? It's not that big of a deal.
no subject
Gladion just... scowls at her angrily, until Sivally nudges his hand with a huff. She's right, you know. This isn't like back home.
A sigh escapes him, hand resting on the head of the chimera.]
It's still an awful color...
no subject
What color would you prefer?
I'm sure there'll be more opportunities for clothes in the future...
You strike me as someone that wears a lot of black.
no subject
... black or red.
[Honestly he wouldn't have such an issue with bright colors if it weren't for how he was forced to dress for so many years.
Besides, Lillie pulls it off much better than he does.
Still, being that obvious that a stranger could pin down his likes wasn't exactly elevating his grumpy nature. He even lets out a sigh with his response, turning his head slightly and placing a hand over one side of his face.]
no subject
I could tell by the hair.
I think it's cool.
[Her hand is now in front of him, fingers fluttering a bit. Shake her hand. Do it!]
I'm Max.
no subject
There's a moment of hesitation before he takes the offered hand with the one that had been over his face.]
Gladion.
[Sivally lets out a whine and nudges up against his side. Don't forget them!]
And this is Sivally.
no subject
Max has kind of a weak handshake but she smiles nonetheless.]
Cool name, too. I've never met or even heard of anyone named something like that.
[Sivally gets its own smile form her, and the corners of her lips twitch a bit because WHAT ARE YOU? Would it be impolite to ask why this half-cute, half-utterly-mortifying creature is and what it's doing here?
Probably, right?]
And...hello to you, too.
no subject
Unless Bigfoot is a Pokemon.]
My mother is... esoteric, to say the least.
[Lillie has a halfway normal name, but by meanings they were both named after flowers of all things...
Sivally is happy to be acknowledged, letting out a excited, chittering cry that's somewhere between synthetic and animal-like.]
no subject
Is Sivally from back home? Wherever "home" may be for you? Sivally is...certainly different from most of the animals back home.
We have mostly squirrels. And a few deer here and there.
no subject
Alola. I've learned that I'm the only one here from a world with Pokemon. Truthfully Sivally is the result of experiments rather than a naturally occuring Pokemon. That doesn't make them any less powerful and important to me, though.
no subject
[She'll take this opportunity to get a bit closer to Sivally, though.]
They look like they really like you.
Even if you're the only one from your home, at least you have each other, right?
no subject
[Gladion would likely find himself in a similar state if he was in Max's "boring" world, if only because of how different it was.
Sivally nuzzles up against Gladion's side again, earning a tiny but actually present smile from the teen.]
My entire team made it here with me, thankfully.
2
WHAT'S [He shouts as he breaks through to the area the shout definitely came from.] wrong...? [Only to be flustered because rather than anyone getting attacked or something else happening, there's just a kid here. A kid and a strange monster he doesn't recognize.]
Hey, are you okay?! I heard a shout from here. Did that thing hurt you?
[The monster doesn't seem to be making any threatening movements, so he doesn't see a need to draw his sword--but that doesn't mean he's not going to be cautious, or worry about the kid's safety.]
no subject
Not that Gladion would be so arrogant as to think a stranger would understand that. He seems to be, so far, the only person with any Pokemon in the village. Even a standard Pokemon like Umbreon wouldn't be recognized by most, let alone something as unique as the creature at his side.
If anything Gladion was more embarrassed that his surprised cry earned such a response.]
Sivally wouldn't hurt me. I'm fine. I was... startled.
[He won't say by what, but the faint pink on his cheeks indicates it was something minor.]
